Hi there,

As you probably already heard the county of Santa Clara along with 41 other counties are closing fitness studios for in-person sessions due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

This means that we are closing the studio for in-person sessions until further notice, but we're jumping straight into online sessions and look forward to working with you there.

Online Sessions - Pros and Cons

According to some of our students the pros and cons are below.

PROS:

  1. The sessions are convenient and you can take them from anywhere that you have a device and wi-fi.

  2. They're safe as you don't expose yourself to Covid-19

  3. Stay active during SIP and keep SANE!

  4. No driving. No traffic. They take less time out of your day.

  5. Rediscover the basics and learn great routines that you can do anytime, anyplace with minimal props.

  6. Stay healthy wherever you are.

  7. Online sessions help you maintain the progress you made in the studio, as many of our students discovered after our last closure.

  8. The exercises help prepare you for a stronger in-studio experience.

  9. The exercises add variety to your routine.

  10. For those of you that have equipment at home it gives you the opportunity to use it during your session.

CONS

  1. 😉 You don't get to come into our lovely studio, but you'll still get the view of the studio from your device.

  2. You miss the in-person experience.

  3. You miss the equipment.

  4. Internet connections sometimes lag or freeze.

  5. It's best to work on tablet or laptop because phone screens have small screens.

The pros far outweigh the cons, but we wanted to let you know what students who have been taking online sessions have to say.

One of the questions we've been asked is, what is the price of Zoom sessions. Zoom private sessions are the same as in-person session.

If you've never done online private or class sessions before check out our Online Class Schedule for information on how to set up for your online session. See you on Zoom!

Santa Clara County Health Director

If you'd like to contact our local Health Officer and Public Health Director Sara Cody and plead the case for deeming Body Evolutions as an essential business we'd really appreciate it. We realize it's a long shot, but if enough people contact them it may help. It's definitely worth a try.

Unfortunately we're categorized as a gym, despite the fact that our work differs from typical gyms. We are a boutique Pilates studio that teaches private sessions, and are following all the county health guidelines.

Our work is focused on helping adults that have been recommended to us because their doctor or physical therapist deemed Pilates or Gyrotonic private training as highly recommended for the support of their hip, balance, or spine issues.
